Paul Williamson – Narrator
Paul emigrated from the UK to Canada in 2000. Acting-wise, he is a late starter, taking his first lessons with Ottawa’s Acting Company in his early 40s. To date he has been in two OLT productions: Arsenic and Old Lace, and Sylvia. Like everyone else, he has been missing theatre since the start of Covid-19 and jumped at the chance to be involved in Behind the Beyond, which has been an opportunity to stay in touch with acting friends as much as a very enjoyable if unorthodox theatre experience!

Mike Kennedy – Sir John Trevor
After working with these talented people at the Ottawa Little Theatre for too many years to think about, this project was just what was needed to share with them virtually. Enjoyed it as much as I hope the folks that watch it do.

Josh Kemp – Valet/Messenger/Butler/Theatre Manager
Josh Kemp is a stage veteran having acted/directed/stage managed over 100 productions on various stages across the province. All of which, of course, has led him to the monumentous role of the Valet/Messenger. Josh currently sits on various boards, and some chairs depending on which day of the week you catch him. Visit him on Facebook for limited access to his profile and an assortment of cat photos.

Amy Quinn O’Brien – Lady Cicely
Amy took a hiatus from the theatre scene for the last few years. In that time, she and husband Seamus have welcomed 3 beautiful boys (now aged 7, 6 and 2 – how’d that happen!?). Amy has performed in the past with several area community theatre groups, including Ottawa Little Theatre (Ladies of the Camelias, Honeymoon at Graveside Manor), DCP (Harvey, Arsenic and Old Lace, Diary of Anne Frank), ITR (Squabbles, Moon Over Buffalo, Lend Me a Tenor), and Kemptville Players (Jenny’s House of Joy, The Mousetrap). The theatre will always be a very special place for Amy – she’s had the joy of acting with her mom, she met her husband Seamus on stage and even got married on the OLT stage!  Amy thanks Brian and Val for giving her a chance to get “on stage” again, without ever having to leave her house!

Amy Kennedy – French Maid/English Maid
Amy has been very excited to be part of this creative endeavor during these uncertain times. This has been her first on camera experience but  has been part of the Ottawa Little Theatre for 23 years. Gracing the stage this past February in Guess who is Coming to Dinner, 2018’s A Streetcar Named Desire and 2003’s Here on the Flight Path. Backstage credits include everything from makeup/hair, stage crew, and assistant director on numerous productions. Continuing to be part of theatre in this new format during the pandemic has been a both refreshing and familiar. Most sincere thank you to our director Brian Cano, without your inspired idea none of this would have happened. To our technical crew, thank you for your patience!

Sarah Hearn – Mrs. Margaret Harding
Sarah has been a regular actor and director at the OLT since her first show (The Voysey Inheritance) opened in January 1990; however, this is her first foray into the magical mystery world of Zoom acting.  Trying not to look at the camera was her biggest challenge, and appreciating the fine work of her fellow cast mates was her biggest pleasure.  Selected acting credits include (OLT) A Murder is Announced, Arsenic and Old Lace, Blithe Spirit, and Noises Off (twice!); (Kanata Theatre) Calendar Girls.  Selected directing credits include (OLT) Of Mice and Men, A Streetcar Named Desire, Towards Zero, and Goodbye Piccadilly; (TotoToo Theatre), Cloudburst, Torchsong Trilogy, and The Lights of Shangri-La.

Production Team

Brian Cano – Director
Brian is a retired High School Drama teacher who first acted at OLT in 1994. He has since acted in a dozen other OLT plays the latest of which was The Drawer Boy during the 100th season. He has also done a number of lighting designs at OLT and elsewhere. Brian has directed a few OLT entries into the Eastern Ontario Drama League Festival of One Act Plays including Talking Carrots at the End of Act One (2003), Baking and Other Acts of Courage (2008) and Behind the Beyond (2012) all of which won 5 awards. Main stage plays for OLT include Same Time Next Year (2009); Messiah on the Frigidaire (2011); Bedtime Stories (2015); A Christmas Story (2015) and Arsenic and Old Lace (2017). Brian is so thankful that this cast and crew of talented people agreed to join him on this journey of discovery and fun!

Jeanne Gauthier – Award Winning Costume Designer
For Jeanne,  joining the theatre started with set dressing on OLT’s Dr. Cook’s Garden, 8 years ago. Since then, she has been Props Designer or Costume Designer on many plays including ‘Burn’, ‘Of Mice and Men’, ‘Clybourne Park’,  ‘Perils of Persephone’ and many more.  What a joy to return to her 1st ever Costume Design Play ‘Behind the Beyond’ and work virtually with many talented cast and crew and Brian Cano, our artistic director.
